Lab Testing

Diagnostic Testing for Your Pet

At our clinic, we offer a range of diagnostic services to help keep your pet healthy and catch potential issues early. We perform many tests in-house for fast results, and we also partner with a trusted reference laboratory for more advanced testing. This combination allows us to provide timely answers and thorough care—often catching problems before symptoms appear so we can take action right away.

🧪 Bloodwork (Hematology & Chemistry)

What it does: Evaluates red and white blood cells, platelets, organ function, electrolytes, blood sugar, and more.

Why it’s important:

  • Identifies early signs of kidney disease, liver dysfunction, diabetes, and anemia
  • Helps diagnose infections, inflammation, and clotting issues
  • Monitors chronic conditions and treatment response
  • Required before anesthesia or surgery to ensure your pet’s safety

Routine blood panels help us catch concerns early so your pet can stay healthy and comfortable.

💧 Urinalysis (Urine Testing)

What it does: Examines urine for concentration, cells, bacteria, crystals, glucose, ketones, and more.

Why it’s important:

  • Detects urinary tract infections, bladder stones, and kidney disease
  • Screens for diabetes by identifying glucose and ketones in urine
  • Assesses hydration and supports evaluation of kidney function
  • Complements bloodwork to give a fuller picture of your pet’s health

A urinalysis can reveal important information that bloodwork alone may miss.

🧪 Parasite Testing

What it includes: Fecal testing, heartworm screening, and tick-borne disease testing.

Why it’s important:

  • Detects intestinal parasites like roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, giardia, and coccidia
  • Screens for heartworm disease, a serious and potentially fatal condition
  • Identifies tick-borne diseases such as Lyme, ehrlichiosis, and anaplasmosis
  • Protects both pets and people, as some parasites can also affect humans

Many parasitic infections cause no early symptoms, so routine testing is key—especially for young, outdoor, or social pets.
