Jyl DeJong (Practice Manager): Jyl graduated from the University of Nebraska in Omaha with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 2000. She began working as the Practice Manager for both Hubbell Animal Hospital and Altoona Veterinary Hospitals in August, 2004. She and her husband, Chad, have 4 sons to keep them busy when not trying to manage their "day jobs." Her family also includes two dogs, Daisy and Dallas. With such a busy household she does not have much free time, but does enjoy scrapbooking.

Jodie Stolk, RVT, Lead Technician: Since graduating from Bel-Rea Institute in Denver, Colorado as a Registered Veterinary Technician, Jodie has had the opportunity to work in both emergency and companion animal medicine. Jodie had the opportunity to work at Alameta East, the hospital featured on the show Emergency Vets on the Animal Planet network. She resides in Rippey with her 5 dogs, 3 ferrets, and 1 cat. When not caring for her pets, Jodie enjoys canoeing, dog training, quilting, and watching football – GO BEARS.
Keri Jensen, RVT, Technician: Keri graduated from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman University) in Kirksville, Missouri, as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has worked in emergency, exotic, and companion animal practices. She lives in Des Moines with her husband, Mike and two children, Joe and Taylor. They also share their home with their dogs and cats. Outside of work, Keri enjoys camping, reading, and watching NASCAR racing.
Aimee Gissel, Technician: After graduation from Southeast Polk High School, Aimee attended and graduated from Des Moines Area Community College as a veterinary technician, Amiee has worked exclusively with companion animals. She lives in Ankeny with her cat, Blackie. In her free time, she enjoys biking, riding RAGBRAI, working out, and watching football – GO PACKERS.
Chris Calvert, Receptionist: Chris has been our Director of First Impressions (receptionist) since 2005. She lives in Ankeny, with her husband Harold, and their boxer, Gracie. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren and doing arts and crafts. You can see Chris’ artistic touch throughout our clinic with our colorful bulletin boards and seasonal decorations.
Tammy Bartley: Tammy has been a valued Kennel Attendant since 2007. Tammy lives in Des Moines with her family and dogs, Alffie and Molly and her rabbit, Steve. In her free time, she enjoys going to the library, attending WWE Wresting, and shopping for he r pets.
